We have Spikes

Charles asked me a few weeks ago to cut his hair. He didn't want the normal shave, he wanted the sides only cut. So here it is. Not perfect but he LOVES it! The first day he wore it that way to school he was beaming! His smile was so big. And at the end of the day the gel was all gone. I think because he kept touching it.

Half Marathon Here I come!!!!

It's almost official! Today I sent my registration off in the mail for my first Half Marathon! I am very excited to take on this challenge. The race is June 4th so I have about 15 weeks to train and my long runs are already about 4.5 miles, so I feel really confident that I can do it. The only part that makes me nervous is that the first half is all down hill. My goal is to complete it in less than 2 1/2 hours and not get injured.
Wish me LUCK!!!!!

Another Month Goes By

Claudia is now 5 months old. She is finally starting to get the hang of taking naps and when she is feeling good she even sleeps through the night. I think she is trying to cut her bottom front teeth so she has been pretty crabby the past few weeks and she keeps getting a cold. But other than that she is a Happy baby and we can't get enough of her.

Couponing

I've decided that my life is not busy enough so I thought I'd add more chaos to it and try Coupon shopping. I've been scouring the web searching for the best sites with the best coupon stacking information. My favorite right now is Fabulously Frugal. It is Awesome, it tells you which items are so cheap that its time to stock up. I ventured out to Super Target today and got some great deals! I bought all the stuff pictured below for only $18.62. I was very proud of myself.
And yesterday I got a Super Sweet deal at Staples. I was looking to buy Turbo Tax and I know this time of year they do all kinds of deals on anti-virus software when you buy tax software. (I refuse to pay full price for Internet Security/anti-virus software, I don't think I have Ever paid more than $30 for 3 computer internet security software.) So I checked Staples on line and found a 15% off coupon and it did NOT exclude software like it usually does. Then I found that I had $19.20 in Staples Rewards Money to use. I went to Staples and found my Turbo Tax for Home & Business Software for $89.99. Then I found Norton Internet Security for 3 computers for $64.99, it was on sale for $32.49 because I bought Turbo Tax. I used my 15% off coupon, which saved me $18.37, then used my Staples Rewards Bucks which saved me $19.20 bringing my grand total to $92.34 tax included! Pretty Sweet huh!!! It just takes a little time and research and it feels SO GOOD to get Great Deals!!!!
Oh, I forgot the best part, the Norton Software purchase qualified for a REBATE. So not only did I save $76.20 I will also get a $35 Visa Gift Card in the mail. How awesome is that!!!! So it's like I paid $57.34 for both. Love it!!!!!!!

4 months

Our precious baby Claudia turned 4 months yesterday!!! She is still a great baby and gets cuter every day. I took her to the doctor for her check up today and she is doing well.
She is now:
14 lbs 2 oz.
24.4 inches long(so not much change there)
head circumference=16.3 inches
making her around the 50th percentile for all.
She did pretty good with her shots. Last time she had a mild fever for about 24 hours so we will see if that happens again.
We are also working on teaching her to fall asleep on her own and take naps that last for more than 30 minutes. Hopefully she will catch on soon!!!
Overall she is a GREAT baby and we are so very blessed!!!

December so far

*This year I started a Christmas count down tradition with the kids. I made an advent calendar using Candy Tins and inside each one put something for us to do each day that is Christmasy. Charles absolutely loves it. Every morning before doing anything else he goes down stairs and gets the next tin and brings it up to me (usually I'm still half asleep in bed) and asks me what it says. I'll be honest we don't always do what the note says. Life has been pretty crazy busy for me this year, so we don't always get to it. One of the ones that we opened said, "Sleep under the Christmas Tree." The kids thought this was a Great idea. John was camping with the scouts so I decided to let them sleep under the Christmas tree. They had a great time and didn't go to sleep until about 10:30.
Some other ones have been; drink hot chocolate, listen to Christmas music, go see Christmas lights, make Christmas cookies, watch a Christmas movie, read from Luke 2, and color Christmas pictures. The kids are having such a good time with this we will definitely have to keep the tradition going. But next year I will have to be better at doing every activity.

*On December 7th we went on a double date with our friends the Todd's to Disneyland. It had been YEARS since John and I had been to Disneyland with NO kids. And since our passes are expiring we thought why not go and have some fun. We left the kids with my parents, picked John up from work and headed down. It was SO much fun!!! I forgot how much I LOVE Tower of Terror. I think I could have ridden it all night long. We also got to go on several other "big kid" rides. Another of my favorites was Indiana Jones. I was reminded why it had been SO LONG since the last time I went on Space Mountain, it made me so sick. But I sucked it up and enjoyed many other rides. It was a Great night with Amazing Company and tons of Fun. Thanks Todd's for a much needed date night!

*On December 15th Charles school had a Christmas Program. We invited Aunt Goo to come with us. It was really cute. The kindergartens sang "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." They had these adorable antler hats and all their noses were painted red. Charles had been practicing the songs for weeks and was so excited to sing them. He did a great job and looked SO CUTE!!!

*The Tuesday before Christmas I got together with my mom and sisters and did our annual Christmas baking. It was fun to be together and make lots of yummy stuff. The kids even helped with the sprinkles on our dipped pretzels and sugar cookies.
*While we were at my parents house making Christmas goodies Claudia decided to roll over. It was exciting. She rolled over from her back to her tummy and continues to do so every time we put her down.

Had to share

I am so behind on blogging and hope to catch up eventually but I just had to share this picture.
As you can see she is absolutely devastated!!! Poor Girl! I'm still not sure why she brought her bank down stairs.
