Down on the FARM

Madison's class had a field trip to Amy's Farm the last week of April and I was able to get a sitter for the two little girls so that I could go! It was really fun! The kids had a great time despite the horrible heat we were having that week.
The kids got to milk the cow. Madison was kinda afraid to try but she did. I was so proud of her.

Go DUCKS!!!!!

At the beginning of this year John and I sat down and made a list of dates we wanted to do each month. We figured if we had it in writing then we would be more likely to make it happen.
For April our date plan was to go to a Mighty Ducks game. We both really enjoy Hockey games and this has always something we try to do from time to time. It wasn't the best game but we really enjoyed the night out and one of our favorite places.

Painting

   (April 19th)
So I thought I was being a totally Awesome Mom by letting Claudia paint. I gave her several colors and paint brushes and a huge poster board and let her go to town. She had a great time. Once she was done I hung it up on an easel we have in the kitchen area and then didn't think anything of it. Well I totally forgot that Katelyn is now pulling herself up to standing on EVERYTHING and could reach the painting. I was in the laundry and when I walked out Katelyn was COVERED in paint. She even had it all over her face, like she had been trying to eat it. Which of course is typical for her age, everything goes in the mouth. Needless to say my Awesome Mom moment was replaced by the need to clean up a big mess. Luckily I've learned that we only keep washable paint in the house. All in all it was not a horrible mess, but a fun memory!
(Sorry this picture is SUPER blurry, I had a hard time holding my camera phone and Katelyn at the same time. But you can see the fun she had.)
