Surgery time!!!

Katelyn has had a clogged tear duct for quite some time now. After meeting with a specialist and waiting for it go away on it's own we finally decided to have surgery to fix it. It obviously wasn't getting better on it's own. I was a bit nervous about her having the surgery because they would be putting her completely under with anesthesia. But I felt it was what needed to be done to solve the problem. Luckily surgery was scheduled while my mom was on spring break from work so she spent the night with us so that John and I could get up super early and head to the hospital. Katelyn did a great job waiting her turn and we enjoyed the one on one time we got with her.  The surgery went really well. The clog was worse then the doctor had hoped so she had to put a stint in.
Katelyn woke up groggy and grumpy and was pretty clingy for the rest of the day but recovered great!!!! By the next day she was back to her normal self!!!
And her eye is back to normal. No more unnecessary tearing!!! Hooray!!!!
The doctor had use a permanent marker to mark over the eye that she was going to do surgery on. You can see it in the photo on the right. It took me two days of scrubbing to get the marker off.  I guess it's better than operating on the wrong eye!

It's becoming more Real

I Love LOVE Love hand-me-downs, but I think every New baby should at least have a few jammies of their own! These adorable jammies just arrived in the mail today! I am so excited to meet this little girl. Just 63 more days (give or take a few, probably give with my history.)

St. Patrick's Day

You may rarely find my house decorated for holidays but you will almost always find us enjoying some holiday treat.  I guess its true what they say, we play to our strengths and mine is in the kitchen. :)
For St. Patrick's day we invited my sister Janelle to join us for dinner since her hubby was out of town on a business trip.
We enjoyed some yummy green pizza and what was supposed to be rainbow ice soda. But the colors in the ice started melting pretty quickly so the soda just started turning a brownish color. But that kids thought it was cool. And for desert we had green cookies and green rice crispie treats!
Nothing too exciting but the kids enjoyed it, so that equals success!

Lots and Lots of Curls

Madison had to do a oral presentation on a character from a book and she chose Fancy Nancy. So we decided to dress the part as much a possible. Fancy Nancy loves EVERYTHING Fancy. We put curlers in Madison's hair before bed and TaDa! We got great curls!!! She LOVED it!!! She kept saying, "It doesn't even look like me."
And she did Amazing on her presentation!!!!

Let's Play some BALL...it's Baseball season again!!!

One of the BEST things about our new house is living so close to family. All of these cousins play baseball at the same park. Kinda stinks that none of them are on the same team, but still fun to see each other at practices and games.

Pinewood Derby

Charles' Cub Scouts had their Pinewood Derby in March. As John and Charles worked on his car John kept telling him, "you probably won't win." Charles tends to be a little competitive and gets really sad when he loses. I think John was just trying to prepare him in case the outcome what not what he wanted.
They made a pretty good looking car.
Then when it came time to race it, it did AMAZING!!!  It ended up winning the whole thing!!!
John just kept saying "I don't know how that happened."
Needless to say, Charles was beyond excited!!!!
Now it's on to the district Pinewood Derby in May!!!
