Flat Tire

On the way home from my sisters house after her gender reveal I got a flat tire. It was not fun! I was alone with all 4 kids. Luckily my dad was following because he was heading to my brother's house. He told me to pull over and we proceeded to try and change the tire. But we forgot one small detail. My car has 22 inch rims and the standard lug nut wrench that comes with the car does not fit on my lug nuts. Bummer!!!! Luckily we have AAA so we called them and they sent a truck out to help us. The kids had a blast waiting in the car. Well maybe not a blast because I made them stay in the car since it was dark. But they did enjoy climbing all over the car while waited. I am so grateful that my dad was following me and saw that my tire was low because I did not even feel it. And it was nice to have the company while we waited for the AAA guy to come help us.
Love you Dad!!!!

Easter Bunny brought gifts!!!!

The kids were once again spoiled by the Easter Bunny and had a great time finding their baskets.
They all got new Crocs, sunglasses, books, bubbles, and some candy of course!

Soccer Time!!!

Madison has been asking to play soccer for a year or two so we finally gave into her wishes. She started in the cities "lil kickers" and after her first practice she Loves it!!!
We'll see how she feels at the end of the season, but this may just be her sport.

Garthe Eggstravaganza

Every year the Saturday before Easter we get together with the Garthe Family and color Easter eggs and have an egg hunt. The kids always love doing this. It really fun at the Gibson's house because they have a nice big backyard that is perfect for hiding eggs.
Katelyn got a head start on eating candy. And was proud of her blue tongue!
Looks like they are ready to go find some eggs!!!!

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma & Grandpa Andersons

A few days before Easter we got together with my family to do an Easter Egg Hunt at my parents house. The kids always have fun at Grandma's especially when there is money and candy involved.
This year each kid had a color that was theirs. As you can see Madison was Pink of course! Claudia was Orange, Charles was Blue, and Katelyn's was yellow.
Bryce was Green and Kaylee was purple.
All the kids had a great time on their egg hunt.

Big Girl Bed & Blankets

The baby is coming shortly so we needed to evict Katelyn from the crib. We decided to wait until after her surgery because we would also be getting rid of her blankets. Katelyn has been a thumb sucker since she was a tiny baby but as she got older the only time she would suck her thumb was when she would have her special blankets. So we slowly started taking away the amount of time and when she got those blankets. Which also lessened the thumb sucking. So we figured if we could get rid of the blankets, which now she was only getting in bed, then we could eliminate the thumb sucking. Which was only happening in bed. So a few days after surgery we moved Claudia into Charles room and moved Katelyn into Madison's room. The top bunk in Madison's room has high sides so it's kinda like a crib.  She has transitioned surprisingly well.  Although I think she may still be sucking her thumb from time to time. I guess I shouldn't worry since it's only done in bed and on rare occasion.
There have been a few times when she cried herself to sleep on the floor. But all of the kids have done that. I'm just happy that she is still taking her nap and going to bed at the same time.
Since we took all Katelyn's blankets away for good I decided that I needed to make her a blanket like I've done for all the other kids. So I gathered all my scrap material and put together and quilt for her.
And since I was making her a new blanket Charles and Madison asked me to make them new blankets too since theirs were getting too small.
Here's Madison's blanket
And this one is Charles'.
Nothing fancy and far from perfect, but they Love them!
