We decided to do a combined birthday party for Charles and Katelyn since they both were big birthdays.
It worked out great!!!
We had the party right after the baptism. We started with lunch. Charles chose hot dogs so I cooked them in the crock-pot and provided all the fixings and asked our guests to bring a side to share. It worked out wonderfully! After lunch we told all the adults they could sit and chat and we would entertain the kids.
We played Guess What with the kids and Toppling Towers. Both were great games for kids of all ages. (We had kids as young as Claudia and all the way up to 13 playing.) I think everyone enjoyed the games.
Oh and we did our 1st Birthday photo game. Where were everyone has to try and guess the correct order of the photos of Katelyn for her first year.
Since it was Charles' party too we did a game for him too.
But instead of each month we did each year. I always love to get the adults involved in some of the fun too!
And it's fun for everyone to see how the kids have grown and changed.
After the games we opened presents and then had dessert.
Since we were having such a larger crowd I
decided to change things up a bit and have cookies and ice cream
instead of cake. I made the cookies ahead of time and froze them. (Which saved a ton of stress the day before and day of the party.) I
think there was like 6 different kids and we served it with several
different ice cream choices. There seemed to be something for everyone.
I didn't forget to make a small cake for Katelyn for the traditional eating of her 1st Birthday cake.
Thanks everyone who joined us!!
